Caring for NOVADRY® garments
Garments and gloves with NOVADRY® technology are designed to be easy-care. Our recommendations for optimum and lasting performance:
Washing:
1/ Machine wash (30 to 40°C): remember to fasten hook & loop fasteners and use gentle detergent. Wash jackets and trousers inside out. Loosen straps and elastics.
Please note: don't turn NOVADRY® gloves or mitts inside out, always wash right side out.
3/ Avoid folding the garment in the washing machine as this can cause damage.
3/ Don't mix different clothes or colours.
5/ Never use bleach.
6/ Rinse well and use a slow spin speed.
- Use stain remover before washing on persistent stains such as oil or ink. We recommend you first test the stain remover on a small, non-visible patch of the surface to check that it does not damage the textile.
- Rinse thoroughly after application.
Choose between:
- line drying
- tumble drying (low temperature, short programme).
Please note: Don't leave NOVADRY® garments on a heat source such as a radiator, as this may damage the breathable membrane or coating.
You have the choice:
- Iron the areas concerned (cold iron).
- Tumble drying (low temperature, short programme).
- Apply NOVADRY® waterproofing spray
Contact with salt water:
NOVADRY® fabrics aren't sensitive to salt or dirt. However, rinse your garments thoroughly and regularly to maintain their qualities (in particular water repellence).
If the fabric is pierced:
Use the NOVADRY® REPAIR KIT .
It's better to apply the patch on the inside of the fabric, which is less visible:
1) Unstitch the lining if there is one, to reach the tear
2) If necessary, stitch the tear closed (zigzag or straight stitch).
3) Cut the NOVADRY® fabric from the kit to size, allowing a 1cm overlap all around the tear. Apply the glued side (bright side) to the tear.
4) Place the protective sheet over the garment before ironing on the patch (medium iron/cotton setting for 30 seconds).
5) Remove the protective sheet and leave to cool before handling.
NOVADRY®-labelled footwear care
Novadry shoes are designed to be easy-care. Our recommendations for optimum and lasting performance:
Stain removal:
- Do not use stain remover.
- Brush the shoes off, preferably when they are dry.
- Never machine-wash your shoes.
- Clean them by hand using a damp sponge and water to remove mud.
- Tumble drying should be avoided for shoes and insoles.
- Leave your shoes to air dry.
- Caution, a warm air source is acceptable but it may toughen the leather parts.
To re-activate the water repellence, spray with NOVADRY® waterproofing spray on the outside
- To prevent white marks caused by salt: brush off the shoes using clean water.
- Clean this way after use in snow.
- You can re-waterproof your shoes with NOVADRY® spray
Take care not to hole the outer of the shoes, as this damages the membrane and reduces the waterproofing.
