1 : Raw materials

Polymer granules, from oil, are used according to the composition required for the fabric.

Novadry uses mostly polyamide and polyester.

2 : The thread

Polymer granules are melted to make a smooth paste.

This paste is then poured through a perforated sheet which creates the thread.

This thread is then finished before being stored on reels.

3 : Fabric or knit

The thread is then woven or knitted, depending on the aesthetic or technical aspects sought.

4 : Dyeing

The fabric is stored in rolls that are then dyed in the required colour.

5 : Laminating or coating

The fabric becomes waterproof when a thin film of polymer is applied to the interior.

Breathability is conserved thanks to the film's capacities to allow steam through.

6 : Water repellence

Finally, a chemical treatment is applied to the fabric to allow water to glide over the surface. Without this last process, the fabric would swell up with water and the breathability would be impaired.
