Waterproof properties of the component

 the resistance of a fabric to water pressure is measured by the height of a column of water in mm (test based on the ISO 811 standard). The higher the pressure, the more the fabric is waterproof. A component with a waterproof measure of 2000mm withstands the pressure of 2000mm of water (that is approximately equivalent to a 2-hour downpour).

Waterproof properties of the garment

 NOVADRY® technology: This garment has been tested under a shower of 100 litres of water per square metre per hour for 4 hours. This test simulates the conditions of heavy rainfall in the mountains. For further information visit Novadry.com.

Breathability of the component

 to find out whether a fabric is breathable, the resistance of evaporation of a textile, RET (test based on the ISO 11092 standard) is used as a measure. The weaker the resistance, the greater the fabric's capacity to transfer the water vapour generated by the body through the fabric, thereby making it more breathable. For example: RET < 9 = extremely breathable fabric / 920 = fabric that is slightly or not breathable.
